If you've been thinking of upgrading or refreshing some of your old computers I've got some great news! We're running a group buy on new and fast name-brand desktops and laptops.
We've locked in a price to buy the computers in-bulk as long as we place the order with our supplier by August 31, 2020.
If you'd like to join the Group Buy, fill out the form below to place your order and we'll get the ball rolling for you ASAP.
We've received some great questions and are compiling the answers at the bottom of this page. Click to go there.
After sending the initial email we have received some excellent questions about this group buy. We decided to include those questions and our answers here in the hopes that it will benefit others.
These are brand new Dell systems. We are working with Dell directly on the deal.
We do not use these computers in-house. Simply because we purchased computers years ago and don't need to replace them yet. If we did, then these would be the ones we would buy. At least for normal workstations. (Some of our team do some intense stuff so would probably spring for something a little more specialized at a higher cost.)
We do a standard migration that moves the contents of the normal user storage locations (The Documents, Pictures, Music, Desktop folders) as well as some personalization/config (like desktop background, browser favorites/bookmarks, etc...) That standard limited migration costs 1 support credit.
Depending on your needs, there may be some additional consulting needed to get programs installed, additional configuration etc... That would all be done on an as-needed, time-used basis where we get on the phone with you and work through your punch list together (1 support credit = 1/2 hour)

Yes. Windows 10 Professional (64-bit of course)
That will depend on the licensing of the Office product you purchased. If you purchased it as an Office365 subscription then the licensing is user-based and you can move it between computers pretty much at-will. If you purchased a stand-alone license for a one-time lump sum then technically and legally the license is tied to that hardware. We have heard of some cases where the same key was able to be used on a second computer and activate successfully but we are not advising that and it isn't something we would assist with.
These would be perfect for someone like you. When we say "business-class" we're talking about things like reliability, build-quality, and warranty. Typically businesses care about those things the most. They also don't care too much about flashy colored lights and playing graphically intense online games. So these systems are made to do exactly what you're doing and in a very reliable way: Emails, web browsing, documents, spreadsheets, etc...
Keep in mind that the storage in this computer is 256GB, which is enough for most office users but for home use, if you have lots of family photos etc... that storage space may not be enough. It can be upgraded, or supplemented by using an external hard drive. I'd recommend assessing your current storage requirements. If you need to upgrade the storage, let me know and we can discuss options.
It certainly can.

Nope! Not this one. I would consider this one a real solid workhorse for normal office use, not really for gaming. But I have been hearing from lots of folks asking for a performance rig for multimedia production etc... Trouble is I don't know if there's a one-size-fits-all at that level that would give us enough volume to do a buy like this. Definitely listening to the responses from you and others though!
You can use both. Many people use a desktop at their desk/office because it is more ergonomic and have a laptop to use on the couch or kitchen counter because of the portability. One option that many are choosing is to set up a "docking station", which is a small box that sits on your desktop and connects to your monitor(s), keyboard, mouse and other peripherals. You can connect your laptop to this docking station with a single USB cord and get the ergonomic and productivity benefits of using a desktop monitor, keyboard, mouse etc... but can also disconnect it and take the laptop portable. We can add a docking station to your order for $249.99.
Windows programs, by their nature, don't transfer from computer to computer. The process is to go through and install the desired applications on the new computer. If your current computer is running Windows 10 I would expect that all software that runs on your current system will also be technically compatible with the new computer. Certain programs may be licensed for a single computer (MS office, if purchased stand-alone is one). If so, then a license may also need to be purchased for the second computer. On the other hand, the Microsoft Office 365 subscription product includes licensing for multiple computers and the included OneDrive sync would be great for keeping your files synced between the computers.
Data transfer and computer set up is something we can certainly help with.

Yes. Most laptops typically do but not all so it is good to be certain. This one has a microphone and camera with intelligent audio technology designed for videoconferencing.
